Social Inclusion Forum 2024

Empower were delighted to attend the 2024 Social Inclusion Forum today which was opened by Joe O'Brien TD for Dublin Fingal. It was good to hear about the progress being made in social inclusion across Ireland. Empower staff took part in the disability workshop to hear about the great work being done to support people with disabilities into a more accessible and inclusive society.

Woodlands for Health at Newbridge House & Demesne

Empower were delighted to take part in Woodlands for Health at Newbridge House & Demesne yesterday along with Healthy Fingal. Our Balbriggan Walk & Talk group attended along with the Sustainability group and members of the Balbriggan community for a lovely walk through the grounds and refreshments.

Hello How Are You Day

Empower were delighted to take part in the Hello How Are You Day as part of Thrive Balbriggan along with Mental Health Ireland, Fingal County Council, Youthreach, Healthy Fingal, Balbriggan Superintendant Paul Franey, Deputy Mayor Grainne Maguire, Balbriggan Integration Forum, Empower Walk & Talk group, Our Balbriggan and the incredible volunteers from the Balbriggan Community. A big thank you to St Mologas Primary School Choir who provided the music.

Go Purple Day

Empower were delighted to support the event this morning for 'Go Purple Day' in Balbriggan Garda Station. The initiative is to raise awareness of domestic abuse. It also highlights the local domestic abuse support services in Balbriggan.

FAI Transition Year Course Graduation

Congratulations to everyone who graduated this morning from the FAI Transition Year Course. This was a very special year because it was the first one where girls took part. Well done everyone and we look forward to seeing you all playing in the future. The Course is supported by Empower and Fingal County Council.

The aim of the Community Food Initiative is to influence the eating habits of families with children aged 8 years to 12 years living in low-income communities.

We Can Quit Programme

We Can Quit is available to anyone living in Fingal, it runs for 12 weeks and includes free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) for each participant.

Squashy Couch is an adolescent health and information project geared towards teenagers aged between 14-19 years.

We are an anti-racist organisation which stands against all forms of racism and discrimination. We want to support and promote an inclusive society in Fingal where all people, regardless of who they are, feel valued.

Empowers, One Step Closer Community Service programme have moved all classroom based training to online training and offer the following self-paced industry specific courses

Connect and Include

Connect & Include is a campaign to eradicate digital poverty in Fingal County. The campaign is run by Empower, the local development company for Fingal.

Healthy Fingal

The Healthy Fingal Strategic Plan 2021-2025 was launched in June 2021 by the Mayor of Fingal County Council. It sets out to support the implementation of Healthy Ireland across Fingal by addressing health inequalities.
