Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

BizWorld Ireland has (5 February, 2016) announced a new partnership with Bank of Ireland which will see entrepreneurial workshops rolled out to primary schools nationwide. The Bank of Ireland Bizworld workshops, which include a DragonÕs Den type competition, inspire and empower children, aged 10-13 (5th class) to learn about money management, critical thinking and enterprise in a fun and creative way.

To date, over 100 Bank of Ireland staff members around the country have been trained as tutors by BizWorld Ireland, enabling them to run 2-day workshops with primary students in their schools. Workshops feature everything from brainstorming to business development and finally a DragonÕs Den style pitch of the business. Through Bank of IrelandÕs involvement, the partnership aims to have workshops running in 250 schools by year one, doubling to 500 in its second year.

Bank of Ireland BizWorld 2-day workshops are free to primary schools and require very little involvement from the class teacher. The responsibility for the start, middle and completion of the workshop lies with the Bank of Ireland trained tutor. The workshop comes to life on day two when a member of the local Bank of Ireland branch acts as a Dragon in the Den with the class as they compete in the BIZ Factor competition.

The final step is the BizWorld Annual Competition, the BIZ Factor where schools compete with one another to be awarded the BizWorld Enterprise of the Year. This will takes place in April 2016. For more information or to enquire about booking a workshop visit www.BizWorldIreland.org.

Doing the Business this summer!…18-7-13

Bizworld Ireland is hosting summer camps at Smurfit Business School this summer. Bizworld workshops usually take place in schools introducing money management, critical thinking and enterprise skills to children aged 10-13. Education is seen traditionally as equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to complete a CV in order to get a job but Bizworld is sowing the seeds in these young minds to consider that they may be creating employment in the future, taking in CV’s and giving out jobs…sowing the seeds so that they can grow their future.

Pictured at a photocell to announce the workshops were; Government Adviser as part of the Entrepreneurship Forum creating a National Policy on Entrepreneurship, Daniel Ramamoorthy, and Orla Nugent, MBA Director Smurfit Business school with participating students Daniel Fitzgerald (10 from Blackrock, and Leah Murray McArdle (11) from Sandyford.
